Group
Transport
We can provide accessible group transport for support groups, social clubs, lunch clubs, church groups, care homes, day centres, neighbourhood groups and others.

As a condition of our transport permit, the group must become ‘members’ of Bath Community Transport (BCT) before any bookings can be made.
The minibuses can be used for transport throughout mainland Great Britain. This can be to support centres and clubs, or places of interest around the country. See our ‘trip ideas page’ for some ideas of places to visit.

Subject to criteria and receiving training from us, the group can self-drive our minibuses, or subject to availability, ask that we provide a driver for them (This may be a BCT volunteer or a BCT staff member).

Our minibuses have easy access side steps, as well as a tail lift for those in wheelchairs or unable to manage the side steps.
Wheelchair users that can transfer to a regular seat once on board, must bring a carer or assistant to help them if they cannot manage this alone. We have some room to store sticks, folded wheelchairs, walking frames and walkers – but depending on the quantity of these, we may have to use passenger seat spaces to store them, reducing the size of group that can be taken.

For wheelchair users that are unable to transfer, travel may be possible by remaining in the wheelchair using our clamping system. We would need advance notice to remove some minibus seats to accommodate this.

For safety reasons, the wheelchair must meet certain criteria to be clamped – It must be a ‘crash tested’ model, have a working lap belt, and if the wheelchair has a tilt function, the passenger must be sitting upright, not tilted back. A signed disclaimer would also need to be provided.
We receive some funding each year, which helps us to keep the transport cost down but a charge is payable for each trip, which will be invoiced to your group at the end of the month. You will be advised of the latest charging structure when you make a booking enquiry.
Our phone lines are open Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) from 9 am to 5pm.
To support as many people as possible, office staff also cover some driving, please leave a message if it goes to voicemail with your name, contact number and details of your enquiry. Alternatively, you can email us via our "contact page" using the button below.
